• Folding

Paper folding is the art of folding paper. Many of the designs can be done on a folding machine, some are too elaborate and must be folded by hand. After printing, allow time for the ink to set up and dry before folding. Printing dark inks over folds tends to accentuate the fold, especially if the paper has a tendency to crack, so to over come this crack, we usually recomand to laminat the sheet before fold.

In books, the sheets are first folded up into sections. The sections have to contain a number of pages which is a multiple of four. When a book contains many section, the section have to be assembled. To cut off the folds and to give the sections a square, clean appearance, the edges are removed by a machine called a guillotine.
